Is that watercolor? The blues and yellows are gorgeous.

Yes! It is watercolor. I actually got some new watercolor markers for Christmas so I was trying them out for this painting. But I'm still trying to figure them out, and I ended up using them just like my normal watercolors

Fascinating. I wonder what different effects the markers would give on wet or dry paper.

So I normally use watercolors from tubes and I'd compare the markers to that kind of. I treat the markers as my paint that I apply directly to the paper, wet or dry, and I can spread them with water from there. There's a few drawbacks compared to my normal paint, but it's so easy to clean everything up. I just cap the markers compared to washing paint off of everything. For me that's the biggest advantage

*laugh* It sounds a lot like paint-with-water but more flexible. I can see how it would be much more convenient than paint from a tube. I think watercolors are beautiful.
